Whalley Abbey Snowy Engagement Shoot

Whalley Abbey is a truly beautiful place which dates back to the 14th Century, the ruins are all which remain now and it's a perfect backdrop to host a wedding or an engagement shoot. I love being a Lancashire wedding and engagement photographer, one of the best aspects of my job is meeting new clients who end up as friends, when I met with Kerry and Dan we clicked straight away, I knew it was going to be a lovely engagement shoot!!

Kerry and Dan are my competition winners for a free engagement shoot, they won the competition back in December last year!! We scheduled a date to do the engagement shoot, however due to the 'beast from the east' we had to reschedule to today.  I was so excited to catch up with them both and learn more about their wedding plans, they are getting married at the very stylish Holmes Mill in Clitheroe in the next couple of years and I will be their wedding photographer, which I feel really honoured to be a part of their special wedding day.

We set off walking around the grounds, it was so cold, snow was on the ground and there was a real icy feel in the air so we didn't stay out for too long, not that the cold bothered Kerry and Dan, they were totally wrapped up in each other which is lovely to see.

My engagement sessions are always very natural, I like to capture the moments as they happen - so no weird or awkward posing directions from me! I move around you both with my camera, always from a distant and then getting in close when I can see the perfect image in camera.  The only direction you will get, is to have a little cuddle and a kiss, the rest is up to you! xx

I loved meeting Kerry and Dan and taking some very special photographs for them.  They were absolute stars on the day. I've added a selection of my favourite images from the shoot which are attached below.

Enjoy, love Laura xx
