Winter Wedding - Abbey House Hotel - Barrow In Furness
There are so many beautiful wedding venues in the Lake District and I was really excited to head up to Abbey House Hotel for Luke and Stacey’s big day! I was working as a second photographer for their wedding and so I was able to have a good look around the grounds whilst the main photographer was with Bride, Stacey.
On the morning of the wedding there were blue skies and although cold it looked like the weather would hold out. unfortunately this was not the case and after Luke and Stacey had said ‘I do’ the heavens opened and it didn’t stop raining for the rest of the day, this was a real shame as Stacey had wanted lots of portraits taking in the Abbey grounds.
One of my favourite parts of any wedding day is the couple portraits, and come rain or shine as a professional wedding photographer you have to get those portraits. The weather was torrential however we headed outside with brollies to get some quick portraits of the happy couple at the entrance to the Abbey House, before heading inside to the warmth.
Stacey had styled the wedding with cream and blush pink and rustic touches, the wedding breakfast room looked so lovely with lots of candles it was so wintry! Luke and Stacey enjoyed their wedding breakfast meal and speeches before it was time to take to the dance floor for their first dance as man and wife.
It was a real honour to be apart of their day as a second photographer, below are just a few of my favourite images from their wedding day. Enjoy!
