Bashall Barn Wedding Photographer - Outdoor Ceremony For Bride and Groom

Bashall Barn in the Ribble Valley almost feels like my second home, it truly is a very special Lancashire wedding venue. Throughout last year I shot seven gorgeous weddings at Bashall Barn, however only one of those was in the new outdoor woodland ceremony area and that was for Natalie and Callum. I’m not going to lie, when I found out that they both dreamed of getting married in this new area I was super excited, it just looks incredible. Natalie’s aunt was her florist and covered the whole of the area with gorgeous white and blush toned blooms and foliage, a theme seen throughout the wedding breakfast tables and of course bridal bouquets.

Bridal Preparations At Bashall Barn

Bashall Barn has two stunning suites, purely for the use of the couples, all the bridal party the night before and then the newly weds on their wedding night. They have ample space for hanging dresses and even an area for detail shots. I met up with Natalie and the girls the morning of the wedding for bridal prep. The champagne was in full swing, makeup and hair all happening and Natalie was opening presents, from her bridesmaids and soon to be husband, Callum. Once the girls were all ready it was time for Natalie to do a dress reveal with her dad. Wow, such an emotional moment, lots of happy tears were shed. Natalie looked every inch the bride with a fitted lace dress and cathedral length veil. During bridal prep, my second shooter, Jason was with Callum and the groomsmen who were getting ready at another popular Ribble Valley wedding venue, The Spread Eagle At Sawley a traditional pub set next to the river Ribble. A quick pint and a few quick snaps by the river taken, it was time for the groomsmen to head to Bashall Barn!

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony At Bashall Barn Lancashire

Wooden benches filled with happy guests, a tree lined aisle, a string quartet playing, it was time to say ‘I do.’ Natalie and Callum had opted for a traditional ceremony with a couple of readings. The weather was just beautiful, warm and dry with a little breeze, it seemed to just settle as the couple married. After the ceremony, the couple were showered in flower petal confetti before enjoying their first drink as a married couple.

Golden Hour Couple Portraits In The Ribble Valley

There really is no better light than the hour just before the sun sets, photographers always have a way to hunt out this light, it is warmer, more flattering and if you are lucky, a perfect sunset. After the wedding breakfast I took Natalie and Callum outdoors for their second portrait sessions. For summer weddings, I always try to do two portrait sessions as the light changes so much throughout the day, each session lasts no longer than fifteen minutes and really provides the backbone to your final wedding gallery, alongside your wedding ceremony.

Cake Cut & First Dance

A tradition still seen at most weddings, the cake cut and the first dance welcomes the start of the evening entertainment and celebrations. Natalie and Callum took to the floor and after a few minutes they were joined by their family and friends to dance the night away. A lovely wedding, thank you so much to Natalie and Callum for choosing me to capture their special day.
