Blush pink, mint greens and whites were the perfect backdrop for this little beauties cake smash session!! I really do enjoy my cake smash photography sessions and Isabella was a absolute star during her first birthday celebrations photo shoot, at my home studio in Helmshore, Rossendale.

I just love the expressions all little ones show when they realise that they can literally just eat as much cake as they want, the only tears are generally as the cake is removed so that the 'splash' part of the session can be set up!!

Isabella really enjoyed eating the cake and playing with the balloons, she literally was a dream baby!! She did need a little bit of encouragement from mum to start, this is quite normal, it can sometimes be overwhelming for babies when a large cake is placed in front of them!! Once, Isabella realised she was allowed to eat the cake with her hands, she just went for it!! Isabella's cake was a gorgeous giant cupcake made up of chocolate sponge, cream and pink buttercream roses, all lovingly made for her by her grandma!! xx

Once the cake smash is finished, I always follow my smash sessions with a 'splash'!!

What happens during the splash part of the session?? So your baby has enjoyed their smash, the next stage is to wash away all the cake and let them have a lovely warm bubble bath!! Once the smash has been cleared away, I set the studio up with a little bath tub and a couple of bath toys for your baby to enjoy whilst in the tub, then I photograph their reactions to the bubbles and generally let them have a little play.

I use only baby sensitive bath foams and all my towels are washed in non bio detergents, however if your little one does have very sensitive or allergy prone skin, it's best to bring your normal bath wash for me to use during this part of the session.

Cake smash and splash sessions generally take between 1-2 hours at my home photography studio in Rossendale. I provide all props, outfits, balloons and of course the cake!!
