Black Tie Winter Wedding for Sophie & Mike - North West England Wedding Photography

Stirk House in Lancashire is a gorgeous manor house, built in 1635, its impressive stone exterior has not changed much over the centuries, however the purpose of the building has. Weddings have been held here since 1955 and the Ribble Valley Wedding Venue has grown in strength and reputation ever since. Stirk House looks beautiful at any time of the year or season, however it looked particularly stunning on the morning of Sophie and Mikes big day. The weather gods had decided that a mist to rival ‘Sleepy Hollow’ would be the order of the day and it looked epic in the photographs!

Sophie and Mike had decided to get married a few days before Christmas 2021, organisation was key, as with all weddings, although they did have a little more to worry about as their little boy, Teddy was born a few weeks before their big day, he was groom Mike’s best little man and wore a tuxedo babygro.

Sophie and Mike had chosen elegant styling, black tie for the men and rose gold sequin dresses for the girls, along with cream and gold crackers for favours and the cutest gingerbread men / women for their guests to enjoy. A truly lovely touch. After saying their vows all the guests enjoyed a wedding breakfast meal and plenty of laughs during the speehes. Before the night was over, Sophie and Mike had asked if they could have a portrait with the tree all lit up, of course I was more than happy to do this, it is a favourite image for most Winter Stirk House brides and grooms. Check it out in the images below.

I really enjoyed capturing Sophie and Mikes special day, if you are getting married at Stirk House and still on the hunt for your wedding photographer, then send me a message, I would love to hear all about your wedding plans. Contact me here.
