PRIVACY POLICY MAY 2018

First and foremost, I totally respect your personal information and I will only ask you for what information I really need to help deliver the service you expect from me.  I will of course keep your data safe and secure and I will only share it with other suppliers where I need their help to deliver a service or product to you. A great example would be a print lab where I need your address to send your prints too. You can rest easy at night as I will under no circumstances share your information, or sell it on elsewhere….I honestly wouldn’t have the foggiest idea around how to do this in the first place!!  So, for more in depth information please read on, but I won’t be offended if you don’t and instead grab yourself a glass of wine or gin……gin's!!

The nitty, gritty details!

Laura Duggleby Photography takes your privacy very seriously. This privacy policy has been prepared in line with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which promotes fairness and transparency for all individuals in respect of their personal data. This privacy policy applies to all data I process, and by using Laura Duggleby Photography you consent to my collection and use of such data.

1.   The Data I collect

I collect a variety of data in order to deliver my service to you, and I will manage your personal data transparently, fairly and securely.

I may ask you to provide the following data –

Your name (that one is pretty obvious), address, mobile number, email and of course if you are booking me for your wedding I will need all details about your big day so that I don’t turn up at the wrong church, venue etc.

I will also record a date of birth for all persons I photograph under the age of 13 and I will require the parent or a legal guardian to consent to the photography.

As a photographic business, I also create and manage images as per our contractual agreement and bizarrely images are seen as data so I need your consent to take them.

Why do I need all the above data? Well, to deliver my service to you, I might also use your data for marketing purposes and to personalise your experience!

I collect this data on the following lawful basis to arrange your contract. Which for weddings in basic terms, means I know who you are, where your wedding will be held, who to contact on the day if there is a issue and finally where to post your lovely prints to after your wedding!!

Final point you need to know, when you visit my website, the website collects Cookies, not the chocolate chip type unfortunately but the small pieces of data that websites send to a user's computer and are stored on the user's web browser. The reason for this? Again it’s all to enhance your experience, they are designed to enable the website to remember key information and this helps me to market my business and provide you with the service you expect.

 You still with me??

2. Which third parties do I share Personal Data with?

So I only share personal data with the following third parties:

Google analytics (which shows me a how you view my website), Gmail (my email provider), my Accountant (who really isn’t interested in anything other than the £ sign), Squarespace (my website manager), Printing Labs, Pixieset (my online gallery provider so you can view and use your lovely photographs), Blog providers (sometimes I want to show the world your beautiful weddings so will submit to a wedding blog. If accepted, then they will use some of the data you provide to me. However, I would never submit in the first instance without your written consent) and finally I have several external hard drives, which are kept securely locked up at my home and in other various locked places!!

Just to make you aware, your data is not transferred outside of the European Economic Area unless the company I use is outside of the EU, for example Google (an American company), which therefore falls under the protection of EU/US Privacy Shield.

There are also certain situations in which I may share access to your personal data without your explicit consent; for example, if required by law, to protect the life of an individual, or to comply with any valid legal process, government request, rule or regulation.

3. Why do I share your Personal Data with the above?

I share your data in order to deliver my service to you, but also for marketing purposes (I love sharing images (with your permission) on social media and my lovely website). I may also share your data to allow you access to your own personal online gallery. And, ultimately I want to personalise your experience so I may share data in order to do this.

4. How do I keep your personal data secure?

I keep your data secure by ensuring that passwords are used at all times (I am the only one with access to my business computer) I keep all hard-drives locked and only use the data that is required at the time to perform the service requested.  If you enquire about a service I provide and then choose not to use me as your family or wedding photographer……I might cry a little, but then I will delete all your information.

5. Changes to my privacy policy and control

I may change this privacy policy from time to time. When I do, I will let you know by changing the date on this policy, notifying customers of only significant changes. By continuing to access all my services after those changes become effective, you are agreeing to be bound by the revised privacy policy.

You still there???? We are nearly done…phew!

- the right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal data  - the right of access to your personal data and any supplementary information  - the right to have any errors in your personal data rectified  - the right to have your personal data erased  - the right to block or suppressing the processing of your personal data  - the right to move, copy or transfer your personal data from one IT environment to another  - the right to object to processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, and  - rights related to automated decision-making (i.e. where no humans are involved) and profiling (i.e. where certain personal data is processed to evaluate an individual).

I also give you the option to manage your data via:  Email, Telephone, Writing to me.

Rest assured that I do not hold personal data for any longer than I need to. The duration will depend on your relationship with me, and whether it is ongoing. That being said, I may keep some of your personal data for up to 7 years after our working contract has finished for Tax legislation purposes.

So, that's it.....all pretty straightforward really!! If you do have any specific questions in relation to your data then please do get in contact, I'll be more than happy to help...for now I'm signing of for that gin that was promised at the start of this policy!!
